For that specific approach, yeah, you're hosed.  You need to
install a D3 system, do a full restore, apply the incremental
save, then re-save the data so that you can restore it into
jBase.

You can do that on your own with a $500 developer license from
TigerLogic, or you can commission someone to do it for you.  If
your client's data is important to them I highly recommend you
just tell them the options and the cost and make it happen.  What
most people do is that they'll spend weeks of time, often at a
consultant's rate, trying to save that $500.  That's just silly.
Do it the direct way rather than poking bytes and you'll get this
done quickly and inexpensively.
