Yes, setting things up might take some time, but once that has been done
the rest should be much easier and faster.

That's strange. It should work. Will investigate.

If you by doing tests find bugs, then yes, feed them to BugZilla. Some
will be of the form NotYetImplemented. If you're not sure if it's a NYI
or a bug, ask us.
The tests should definitely go into CVS. Marc, this should be a separate
module, would you agree? If so, then give Peter CVS access and let him
create the module.
Anyone else interested in doing tests should synch with Peter.
We will update the site with information about subprojects, and who's
who, to make it easier to get involved.
