I think the answer you are going to hear is 'catalina' :)
But I don't know how far along that is so in case there's a need for this
right now (which I would not disagree with) then I think the former
approach with the current tomcat is the more feasible one. It will not be
optimal but if it's fairly easy to do, it would help alot.
