No but it uses JMX Notifications for the producer/consumer scheme.

Correct, both consumers and producers are MBeans.

I think not, since the notification feature in the final RI has been
vastly improved.

Well, it *is* asynch. with the early-access RI that we use, but the
problem is that it creates one thread per message...

Yeah, making it more modular would be nice, but I think that simply
upgrading the RI to the final version will be a good thing.
