Hi,
I seem to remember a while back a post about using log4j with JBoss. Did
this ever happen?.
The amount of logging info that JBoss spews out on startup is too much IMO.
It is *extremely* hard to spot an error message in between the pages of
apparently harmless INFO/DEBUG messages.
Perhaps we should adopt a strategy whereby the console is reserved for
messages that the user *must* know about (e.g. your server is on fire!) and
any extraneous "server happy" messages can be fed to a log file or other
standard log mechanism dependent on OS platform. If it is a file then it
also becomes easy to just say "attach you the xxx.log file to any problem
reports"... ;-)
What do you guys think?
Cheers!,
Micheal
