Hello,
Am I right in thinking that JAWS (CMP1.1) does not support Strings saved to
CLOB? Neither reading, nor writing?
Reading fails because JDBCCommand.getResultObject never reach the CLOB part:
if the Java type is java.lang.String, resultset.getString is called which,
under Oracle, don't raise an exception => the CLOB part is not used and null
is returned to the caller.
Writing fails because JDBCCommand.setParameter only handles BLOB and will
marshall any String in a MarshalledObject and serialize the resulting byte
array in the CLOB => the CLOB is unusable for any application => full text
searching or any SQL operator is no more usable for the field.
Any JAWS guru around here? I don't want to touch this code before having
some feedback.
Cheers,
Sacha
