Well, you can guess which version I'm on :-( - 3.0.x,

I'm happy to subclass it locally for the moment, and then pick up
whatever strategy, moves into core at a later date.

Let me know what you decide to do, then I can I either get in touch with
Larry, or pull it out of CVS.
