   JBossCache uses JGroups as the communication medium. JGroups is the basis for many 
features in JBoss like Clustering etc.  You can start by looking deeper into JGroups 
(http://www.jgroups.org)

JBossCache is divided into two classes -TreeCache and TreeCacheAOP.  Basically Cache 
is implemented as a Tree.

jboss-cache/src/main/org/jboss/cache TreeCache.java

Look for a module called "jboss-cache"
