I was able to get the JSP compiler to work. Originally my source was in a linked folder outside of the eclipse workspace. To get the JSP compile to work, I created a new directory called "docroot" under my project folder (C:\eclipse\workspace\MyProj\docroot) and put a jsp there. Now the jsp gets compilation warnings. Maybe you cannot have your JSPs in a linked folder for this feature to work.
