I am trying to learn how to build a basic basic helloworld portlet myself. Try to use the forums portlet as a template. Have some confusion here.
Based on the user manual, the reason that forums portlet is sperated out from the core is that it is intended to be deployed seperately (without the cms stuff). I took a look of the content of the portal-forums.ear. It does not contain any libary jar files. There's even no javax.portlet.Portlet (portlet-api-lib.jar). My question is can portal-forums.ear be deployed without the portal core? Also, for my new HelloWorld portlet, what's the jar file I need to include? I think portlet-api-lib.jar is a must. Just want to confirm. Thanks.
