We have always tried to use a trigger and a sequence to genereate the primary key (String / VARCHAR) for each of our Oracle tables (assuming that responsibility for generating PK's should normally not be on the client). To anyone knowing JAWS: Will it be difficult to extend JAWS with an option for generating "this" ? In my opinion it would be very valuable.
