This is a red herring - Ctrl-C is a perfectly acceptable way to shut down
JBoss.

I still think you have a classpath problem. Make sure your classpath is
empty when you start JBoss.

A possible explanation for the change of behaviour on second and subsequent
starts is the jboss.jcml rewriting that version 2.0 does. I suggest trying a
CVS snapshot.
