No, this is something that it would be nice to support for use with RichFaces - take a look at what I did for the seamdiscs example in org.jboss.seam.trinidad for an example of how to do it which could be translated to RichFaces (or other component sets). All the hooks you need are in Seam. If you do succeed with this, please, let us know your solution!
