Considering that the way to install JBossAS is to download and unzip a zip 
file, there are only two ways to tell if someone has JBossAS in their machine:

1) if JBossAS is running, you can try connecting to one of the ports (such as 
JNDI) Of course, they can change the ports used, so this is not a goo solution.

2) Scan the hard drive. You could do a quick-scan to initially look for JBossAS 
in "typical" locations, and if that fails, scan the entire file system. (I 
actually wrote code like this once!)
