Thank you for your response. It gives me confidence that I will be able to figure out how to do this in a timely fashion.
Now I just have to figure out how to get a handle to the PortalObjectContainer that you're talking about. I just looked and I don't see exactly how one does that. I see a getPortletConfig() and getPortletContext() in my portlet, but that's it..
