In BEA WebLogic, I can update a running application (http://tinyurl.com/6eguxt) without disruption to existing users/sessions. Existing sessions keeps running the old code, while new sessions are assigned to the updated code. Once all the sessions running in the old code have finished, I can delete the old version. Is something like this also possible with JBoss?
