The ESB jars that are referenced by the project should come from your referenced runtime, so it should have the right jars specific to your runtime. And the ESB editor shouldn't allow you to do anything that wouldn't work in ESB 4.7, and according to what Tom says - that should still run on ESB 4.8. But I don't have any ideas on the stacktrace above unfortunately...
