It seems like there wasn't a bug with fileUpload after all, I retested it again and no matter what I did it worked every time. Perhaps because it was late at night when I tried it the first time my brain was playing tricks on me :) Anyway, could you please try it with the latest CVS version of Seam and let me know if you still have problems.
