well I am unzipping 4.2.1 and 2.0.0.CR2 right now. it takes "shithouse" Vista about an hour to unzip JBoss.
what do you mean by "path to the unzipped AS"? I had it set to "C:\jboss-4.2.1.GA" I believe and the EAR was placed in ...\default\deploy.
