Pete, I've created a basic project illustrating this. I've attached it to the JIRA at http://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBSEAM-2111.
I've attached the project built with Seam 2.0.0.CR2 and it raises the error. I've also attached it built with Seam 1.2.1.GA and the error doesn't happen. This explains why it has just started happening for me as I've only recently upgraded. Thanks, Damian.
