I have a clean CLASSPATH environment variable. No entries.
And although I am no great shakes at doing .bat programming
but I think the build.bat totally ignores the CLASSPATH variable
and sets the classpath with all the jar files in the
jboss\lib directory. The output of build.bat also only shows
the jar files present in the jboss\lib directory.
Any ideas about what's wrong ?

Does your classpath point to org.apache.tools.ant.Main, meaning: Is the
parent directory of org (as in org/apache/tools/ant/Main ) one of the
directories listed following CLASSPATH= ?
