+1 on personalization. This actually has been a big turn-off for adoption. Users have expectations of portals from Yahoo, gmail/google, hotmail/msn to have personalization options. Themes are great, but being able to manage their own portal windows, portlets, layouts, navi-tabs, etc is a big for adoption.
