If you try to mix your own tx management with Seam tx management, you will break stuff. No wonder you have been having problems. You are mean to use SEMPPL together with SeamServletFilter, and you will get all the tx management you will need. Don't add other stuff on top. STMPPL is frankly not recommended, since SEMPPL is better. (And it is not currently being tested anywhere, and I don't guarantee it will be there forever.)
