I solved this by accessing the xpath jaxen files directly. So instead of: Node n1 = node.selectSingleNode(...);
use XPath xpath = Dom4jXPath(...); Node n1 = xpath.selectSingleNode(node); So, I think this JBAS-1970 is not the best improvement...
