we placed the mysql-connector-jar in the following lib folders %JBOSS_HOME%>\lib %JBOSS_HOME%>\server\default\lib %JBOSS_HOME%>\server\default\deploy\<web-app>\WEB-INF\lib %JBOSS_HOME%>\server\all\lib %JBOSS_HOME%>\server\minimal\lib
