MyFaces 1.1.1 had a bug that caused problems for Seam. There is Seam logic to offset this issue and it is enabled with this property. The problem has been fixed in MyFaces 1.1.3 and later.
JBoss AS ships with the problematic MyFaces 1.1.1 version. However you can bundle MyFaces 1.1.3 within your war. If you do, you should set the lifecycle bug property to false.
