Check out this forum link that I posted a while back. I believe it's the same issue:
http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=80776 They created a JIRA issue for it (the link is in the forum postings) but it's not slated to be fixed until JBossWS 1.0.3. I worked around it by fixing the code as posted per that forum reference and swapping the newly compiled SimpleTypeMappings (and inner classes) into the following two jars: JBOSS_HOME/lib/jboss-xml-binding.jar JBOSS_HOME/client/jboss-all-client.jar It works fine after you do that.
