Greetings.

I am having the EXACT same problem, but with JBoss v3.2

NOTE: I was able to build and run 3.0.0 and 3.0.1 successfully.
My System;
SuSE Linux 8.0
JDK 1.4.1

I posted a message earlier, but there was no response. I am considering posting a bug. Currently I am running a pre-release custom version of JBoss3.0.1, but would like to upgrade to get some of the many bug fixes and performance enhancements that have since been applied.

Maybe you have to set JAVA_HOME to the rootdir of your JDK, or put
java-binary in the path.
