The second approach is the correct approach to get the initial context unless you are going to use one of the alternative methods of providing propertied (jndi.properties or system properties).
You don't need the 'java:comp/env/' in the lookup, just use the 'ejb/KontoBean'. Use jmx-console and the JNDI View bean to double check that everything is bound to JNDI correctly.
