You will have to buy lots of hardware to handle 500+ requests per second... I am even not sure if you will need JBoss clustering to solve your problem. What is needed (just guessing, as you didn't provide much information on your specific application) is a capable HTTP hardware loadbalancer in front of a multi-machine webserver farm[/] (which is different thing than a cluster)
