Discussing this is in no way blocking the release process.

The future of Jakarta is being discussed now and in great detail on the [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list and like it or not jcs is one of the sub-projects that is popping up reasonably frequently since it is among a few non-commons sub-projects that will soon be all that is left in Jakarta.

There isn't really anything that needs to happen right now, but if you can express your opinion as to where you see jcs residing in the future then it will certainly help things along.

I would much rather your opinion in particular was taken into consideration rather than the rest of the PMC being put in a position where they feel they might have to make a decision without it.

I have stated my opinion that commons would be a great location for jcs. The dedicated mailing lists that jcs has today would most likely be folded into the shared commons lists - these have a much larger volume of traffic, but apart from minor annoyance of having to filter the traffic a little, jcs would stand to become much more widely known since all of the developers and consumers of the existing commons components would be seeing the activity that occurs and this may well lead to more users and even developers.
