... ahemmm... and also this time it's not a dbcp fault...
I'm using jsx (http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~bren/JSX/) to store java 
beans into the database
as xml streams. I suppose I modified one of those javabeans, and I 
discovered that the jsx marshaller now writes
(a lot of) garbage into the database field... so *it's NOT a dbcp / 
transaction problem*.
