I found that as well however you can remedy the problem by doing the
following incantation:

1.)     cd into the 'dependend' directory.
2.)   remove all of the jar files.
3.)   issue the following cvs command:
      cvs up -kb

This tells CVS to interpret the file as binary, and everything will be
just fine.

I found the Jar files in CVS have broken.  May be they have been check 
it as text not binary.
I hope some body who response on this repository should correct it. 
Because it has been very annoy every time I check out files and try to 
build the project.
