If you have a look at the comments in dbformtag from Philip you found

     * Introducing Free-form select queries. Using the whereClause
attribute, developers
     * are now able to specify the ending of an actual DbForms query.
Dbforms generates
     * the "Select From" part, and the developers have the
responsibility
     * of completing the query. ie: adding the whereClause, an orderBy,
etc...
     * Note that using this function renders navigation impossible!

So if you use free-form select with the whereClause nothing will work -
only the free form select. No filter, no sorting, no navigation. Even
orderBy is ignored because you should write it in the whereClause.

Maybe we should write this in the documentation.

Or we should change it. But before changing we must discuss the way how
dbforms should deal with the data. Luca had made an interesting
suggestion. He wrote mails to Joe and Philip but we did not get an
answer yet.

I think we should start discussion yet?

Regards,
Henner
