It seems that both child and parent fields in a sub form need to be keys, is that correct? I want to document that if so. Would is seem possible to enable DBFs to accept fields that are set to sortable in dbforms-config? I would like to use a unique (non-key) in a childform that maps to a non-key in the parent field.
It seems that the error message is incorrect. For example in the following, exp is not in the table explanations but in the parent table questions. I've seen confusion in the past on the mailing list when the keys have the same name. In other words, THE ERROR MESSAGE GIVES THE PARENT KEY BUT USES THE CHILD TABLE NAME (AND VISA VERSA I SUSPECT).
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: ERROR: Make sure that field exp is a KEY of the table explanations! Otherwise you can not use it as PARENT/CHILD LINK argument!
my keys are
