Hi all,
I did some test/playing around with diskblobs.
I have found the following problems we should discuss:
1. If you change the value of an blob field with file upload the old file
is not deleted.
Should we change this?
2. If you have set encoding to "true" and you insert a new file a new id
is generated and the
file is saved with this new id. The old file is not deleted.
See above...
3. There is no posiblity to delete an DISKBLOB. Any idea how to handle
this?
Viviana sugested a checkbox which - if setted - will delete the
filename in the RDBMS.
I think it should delete the file too.
And i think we should render this checkbox together with the <db:file>
tag, should'nt we?
Otherwise we could create a new tag for this purpose...
What do you think?
Any better ideas?
Thanks
Henner
