Hi Henner, thank you for your information. The configuration which made problems was jwsdp-1.3 without any changes in teh configuration of jwsdp or the bookstore example. I deinstalled jwsdp-1.3, installed j2sdk 1.4.2_03 and tomcat 5.0.19 and now the bookstore example starts without problems Regards
