My question is:
- do you want me to add this patch to the CVS
+1 poeple have been asking for this from time to time


- if so, should i provide a switch between the old and the new way of 
handling a Blob? (e.g. i n dbforms-config.xml)

I will put info on this into the usersguide after you post the "switch" 
method to the list explaining how to take advantage of the new feature or 
using the old way if desired.
