Yes, that filter I sent was actually taken from 4.1.x. and copied over to 5.x (there is of course one distributed with 5.x but I forgot that that was where it was from when I made my switch up). Without comparing them I'd guess the were about the same.


I could never get things to work correctly without both the charset declared in the jsp page and the filter compiled and declared in web.xml.
