No, commenting out the variable=null is not a good idea. Normally doFinnally should be called after the doStart Tag. The question is, why is visibleFields null during the call of the doStartTag... > doFinally() methods set all the fields to null? Apparently, AFTER > doFinally is executed, we are still using the Tag handler. How are you using the tag handler after doFinnally? JSP Specifications do not allow this...
