emacs jdk jde

I can't get the JDK and the JDE menu to show up under emacs....I setup the home directory and made the .emacs file and put in all the correct things in the autoexec but none of it shows up in emacs....except under the file menu, there is a JDE new option for class, console, and other. how do I get JDK and JDE to show up in the top menu????
