You dont start JDE like this.
If you have followed the install instructions (assuming
that you need to. As I understand it xemacs comes with JDE
preinstalled) then load a .java file into emacs, and you should get a
"JDE" menu item, through which all of the functionality is
accessed. The only other visible sign is a "JDE new" menu item in
"Files".
You should perhaps read the documentation. Its included
as html with the standard distribution.
