You could have a look at what I rather tweely call
"jfolding.el". Its rather a hack, and uses both folding.el, and
hide-show which together I use to give me the folding that I like (I
can fold methods or block comments, either standard or javadoc)
independantly, and includes some mouse handling code.
Ive been using it quite successfully for ages, and you
are welcome to give it a go. Its available at
http://genetics.ich.ucl.ac.uk/plord. Maybe it will work for you?
