Mike,

  When I was having trouble figuring out why the debugger wasn't
starting,
I tried to run the command from outside of the JDE from a command
terminal.
Then I got a printout of the error - when executing from inside, the
error statement
doesn't print out.

  I am running on Solaris, so I'm not sure how you would do that on
windows.
My error ending up that I did not have my LD_LIBRARY_PATH pointing
to the shared libraries included with the jpda (the install instructions
left
that part out!)
