Then you're better off using Emacs on Windows for Java development. The
native Windows version of XEmacs is new and not all the kinks have been
ironed out. In particular, XEmacs has problems launching Java applications.
If you insist on using XEmacs, you should be aware that most lisp packages
considered standard with Emacs are considered optional with XEmacs,
including gud. You have to download them specifically. Read the XEmacs
documentation for information on how to do this.
