Turns out that the problem isn't related to any specific version of emacs or
JDE. I have a very large project with many levels of directories.  For
whatever reason, when I load in a Source file from this one specic dir, the
Speedbar won't update.  It sorta flashes once, and I think the number at the
bottom changes, but the listed files do not update.  If I choose any other
files in my project, then the Speedbar updates with no problems.

Now that I know where the problem exist, I can probably live with it, but it
would be nice to debug it.  I tried turning on 'debug-on-error' but that
didn't do anything for me.
