So what I got out of that is that it was supposed to work, and if it
doesn't, there is a mechanism to report it.  However, there is no direct
support from IBM, only the open source team, so changes may not happen real
fast.  

There is a recent release of Jikes (which I am using) so some development
of the compiler is still going on.  If you hear anything more from the
Jikes team, I know that others on the JDE list would like to get an update too.
