I think this is a good idea. In fact, maybe it's time to make the JDE mode
line customizable via jde variables (it's possible to do it via other
variables but this requires that the user familiarize themselves with the
Emacs mode line format and how it's customized, which is not well
documented.) I'll put this on my list of things to do. (I would welcome
someone else tackling this enhancement. Be sure to notify me if you want to
do it so as to avoid duplication of effort.)
