As for navigating java functions.  A feature I'd really appreciate would be 

isearch-function-name...   Which would work just like isearch, but would
only look at function names.    This would really help the next time I'm in
a 2000 line file looking for the implementation of "getFlarp()" but have to
weed thorugh 200 usages of it first.
