Whoops.  Ok.
I just downloaded and installed the current stable version.  I still got the same 
error...

I tracked the problem down to jde-cflo.el.  By looking at JDE and the non-jde file, 
jde-cflo.el, I gather that jde-cflow.el is no longer required.  I can't remember 
why/when I added this...  Removing jde-cflo resolves my problem.

The latest "production" version of the JDE is 2.2.5.2, the latest beta is
2.2.6beta7, which is very stable. I prefer not to debug problems in old
versions of the JDE. I recommend you update to the latest beta and repost
if the problem persists.
